​The Protect and Prosper New Zealand Political Party was set up in response to the unprecedented number of ‘crises’ plaguing New Zealand. Namely, the cost of living crisis, housing crisis, health crisis, truancy crisis, ram raid crisis, and staffing crisis. As a result, the level of unnecessary suffering amongst New Zealanders had never been so great.

Furthermore, the ‘seeds of division’ were being sowed, with policies that were set up based upon ‘race’ and ‘age’. For many years, New Zealanders had worked very hard to avoid separatism and have nurtured a multicultural society to be proud of.

It became apparent that Government policies were being set based upon ‘ideologies’, that were unproven and without a business case. In the meantime, most of the important issues were being ignored. Very large sums of money were being thrown around the country and overseas at these ideological based policies, hoping that something would stick. It rarely did.  It appeared that the main policy of the current Government was one of ‘hope’. A massive spend up resulting in unprecedented debt which future generations will be burdened with for a long time.

The Government had a complete disregard for ‘Responsibility’, ‘Accountability’ and ‘Transparency’ in the majority of their undertakings, which was completely unacceptable.

There was a ‘song and dance’ by Government Ministers in announcing policies, but very few projects were delivered. Not to mention the absence of an ‘operational completion test’, where the success of a project can be truly measured.

To cap it off, New Zealanders were locked out of their own country by their own Government during the Covid-19 pandemic. There was a great deal of unfairness with inconsistencies in how people and businesses were treated during this period. Furthermore, large amounts of the fund dedicated to the Covid-19 response were used for non Covid-19 projects.

Large funding commitments were given to overseas organisations, without measurable outcomes, straightjacketing future generations from cancelling these financial obligations. Despite the fact that tens of thousands are living in temporary hotel accommodation and their cars.

Furthermore, there was an attempt to prevent transparency, by training Government employees on how to ‘dumb down’ the Official Information Act 1982.

Many New Zealanders would now have the view that New Zealand has slipped into the third world as the Kiwi lifestyle is continually being eroded.
