Education

Introduce relevant courses into schools - road safety, budgeting, swimming lessons, self defense, Maori foraging, vegetable gardening, democracy and electoral systems (both Central and Local Government). Educate on the importance of diet, exercise and sleep health’

Deal with Truancy. Aim for 90% school attendance within 3 years. Allow for and address poverty cases.

Independent review of the school curriculum. Address 'boredom', and 'relevance', and tailor to ‘life’s challenges’.

The teaching of Reading, Writing, and Mathematics is to be enhanced. Introduce a check system for reaching proficiency in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics at different levels.

Introduce career introduction courses. Eg; Primary industries, Tourism, Technology, Entrepreneurship, Export, and Film Production.

Strengthen languages, including English, Te Reo Maori, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, French, and Spanish.

Improve water safety education - include coastal and river environments, and open water swimming.

Ensure that schools have swimming pools and they are maintained.

Greater education for foreigners on the dangers of New Zealand beaches, rivers and rock fishing. Improve signage. Investigate the construction of swimming rock pools at the end of some of the more problematic beaches.

Introduce wave pools into some of the existing public swimming pools.

Introduce an independent, confidential reporting line to report alleged ‘Bullying’ in schools.

Introduce an independent, confidential reporting line to report alleged ‘Sexual interference’ by teachers in schools.
